Air Flow through HVAC System (question) 900

I am still new to my '96 965 (I love it so far), but with the fan and recirculation switch "Off" on the climate control, I get only a slight amount of air flow through the heater vents, even with the windows or sun roof open.

With the fan on "5" (the highest setting), the fan is quiet, and obviously spinning normally, and the air output flow is acceptable, but again, it's no hurricane as I would expect on the highest fan speed setting.

Most other cars I've owned will allow quite a rush of air under those circumstances.

Is it an aerodymanic design problem (HVAC intake in a low pressure area) and do all 960s act like this, or do I have something clogging my system?

I know newer Volvo models have a Heppa filter that can get clogged with dirt restricting air flow, but my '96 owners manual doesn't mention any HVAC filters.

Thanks,
Bob
