Removal of speedo needle... 200

Hey all, it's been a while since I've posted. My brick's odometer stopped about 30000 km ago, and I've been trying to get it fixed since.

I've been having trouble with the authorized VDO repair service in Toronto -- something to do with them not having the correct repair manuals due to being purchased and reshuffled by Siemens.

Anyhoo, I've been unsuccessful sourcing a used replacement, so I'd like to get in there myself. I can get everything apart except the guage face from the body. It looks like I have to remove the pin, but it feels like she's going to break.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
