Not hearing fuel pump hum when key in on position- start-stall or no start 200 1988

I'm no longer hearing fuel pump hum when key is in on position- vehicle starts and quickly stalls or doesn't start at all. Checked and cleaned all fuses, switched fuel pump relay, checked fuel pump relay fuse, checked connections at main fuel pump, replaced fuel filter, replaced fuel pressure regulator. Is no hum a sign that the main or in-tank pump is gone or going? Is there a fuse in or around one of the pumps itself? Thanks for any suggestions.
