redo ball joints w/o vise? 200 1981

Salutations,

Am envisioning 3rd 240 ball joint job. 2 for two so far, have always done this job where I had access to basements equipped w/ bench-mounted vises.

Ball joint itself is nuttted down into a housing which itself mounts to the strut (at least '83 is this way...).

One needs to clamp this "housing" down tight whilst one cranks on that big nut on stud of ball joint.

Prob. is now I'm short of facilities: no bench nor vise. Would invest in a vise but am a renter and can't exacltly bolt it to liv. rm. floor....

What kind of "holder" or "fixture" can I rig for this job? Vise attached to cinder block? Biggest VISE GRIP available?
