Confused with all the different models

As you already know, the '97 850 GLT has a turbo - the light pressure turbo that produces 193 hp. As 850s go, the '97 is touted as the best, given that there were five years of model development preceding the 1997 models. The LPT engine is also a great all aroud performer, since it has a smaller turbo that spools up faster.

The 850s have a great deal more electronic gear on them than the earlier (simpler) rear drive models. Hence, more need for dealer intervention, and more costly components to fail. Like many other owners, I have already replaced the ABS control module on my car.
