swapping camshafts

B230F engines.

What's the list wisdom on using used heads with used camshafts? I'm in need of a new head (propane ate the valve seats, still that's not too bad at 211K mi), and I've got a good used head around. That head's from a 240 (block mounted distributor, M cam, no slots for the rear of head distributor), I'm driving a 940 (rear of head distributor, VX cam (230FB engine)).

So far I've only swapped in new cams (or new heads), will putting the VX cam from the 940 onto the 240 head (both used) likely work fine, or will it lead to rapid bearing wear?

Bram
