check engine light stays on after starting, no stored codes 700 1989

Thanks for the detailed info. Should I try to adjust the idle speed or not worry about it?

Also, when I took the car in to the shop they looked the fuel system over pretty thoroughly and didn't find anything amiss; should I just write it up to a problem with the pump at the gas station? If not, is the fuel tank vent something I can check myself? Thanks again--
