Manual tranny for my 164 140-160 1971

Hello everyone. I have another question for you. I have a 1971 164. It has a manual transmission. I also have a spare 1980 M46 (from a 1980 242 GT). Are the two transmissions interchangeable?
Now if you're wondering why I have a spare M46 I got it for an amazing price. I had to give the guy a 6 pack of beer. It was quite interesting how I delivered the beer to him though. I was delivering the paper to him at the time and he had a few Volvos laying in his yard, among them there was: (1) 164, (2) 145, (3) 122, (1) P1800. I had to but the beer in the back of one of the 145s. I know own one of the 145's, and the 164 and I've had a 1980 242 since November 9th 2001.
Thank you once again and sorry about the rant.
