No spark! 700

The car started today so I was able to pull it in the garage. I took the distributor apart and the plastic connector that holds the Hall effect wires to the distributor was broken off inside the cap so I suspect that is bad, It probably stretched the wires out. I had no way of testing it. I was able to get the connector and the wires. This little part with the wires was about $58.00 but the connector was only a few bucks. I was able to get the parts today so I hope that this will solve the problem. My car is an early 89 so it didn't have the speed sensor or crank angle sensor which is what I was expecting to find. I also looked at the fuel pump relay but I would think if a relay failed that it would just fail for good and not be an intermitent problem. At first I thought It was a mass airflow sensor so I went out and got a used one. Fortunately for me I was able to return the part and get my money back. Thanks brickboard! There are no good Volvo mechanics around here just ones that want your money!
