Coolant leak- but where? 700

I drive an 89 780 turbo. During my morning commute today I noticed that a guyser of steam was coming out of my engine compartment, approximately in the area of the PCV valve. The engine was also, of course, over heating. later in the day when I examined what was going on, I found the PCV valve had detached itself from whatever it is attached to (oil condensor... sounds right?) I assumed that the PCV valve was the problem and replaced it. After I replaced the PCV valve I prepared to flush whatever coolant remained in the system, but found that water was coming from funny places. Theres clean water coming from somewhere near the PCV valve and the thing it attaches to, but I cant identify where. the leak seems to be too low for it to be coming from the heads, and too high for it to be in the vacinity of the crankcase, so I think the engine is ok, but perhaps not. Any ideas?
