Have you checked the relay? 200 1990

Check your OD control unit/relay (behind your dash). Mine did a similar thing, but it was intermittent. Located the problem to the control unit. Some of the soldering had given up over time and the crack were clearly visible. Re-soldered it and it was a sgood as new. Did the same on my buddy's 87 240. Seems to be a common thing on the 240's. email me at sirmebes@yahoo.com if you need further info.
