Dash Problems after Small Clock installed 200

Ok I went to the yard today and got a small clock for my 89 244. I made sure to grab the harness that came with the clock. When I installed the clock, it didnt seem to work for awhile. After 30 minutes of driving I saw that it started keeping time. Anyway, I get home and am cleaning the car and stuff then I noticed when the car is running and I turn on the headlights the tach dies, and I have no lights on the dash at all. When I turn the dimmer all the way down, or the lights off, the tach jumps kicks back in.
Any thoughts?
Thanx
Patrick and Caroline.
