Rear axel arms amazon 120-130

Hi, my 1963 amazon P130 has the oldstyle rear axel arms, the flat ones and not the tube type. These got a bolt inline with the arm going through two rubbers. I got the feeling they are way too flexible like this compared to the later style with mountings perpendicular to the arms.

Has anyone experience with these old style arms, and can improvements be made?

Are the old style arms indeed too flexible so that the rear axel too easily rolls when braking ?
