I have been trying to get this car fixe dofr a year now. I have spent almost 3000 dollars, and it still doesnt run. Ive gone to GW Performance for most of it, didnt really run when they gave it back to me, I had to go have some other shop put a new alternator in it, cause they handed it back without a working one! It has a completely rebuilt transmission, well, actually they have rebuilt it twice now, i had it for 1 day and it started spraying transmission fluid all over the engine compartment, so they took it back and rebuilt it again. My problem now is that I can turn the car on, and it runs in idle fine, the second I take it out of park it dies. It chugs and dies. I also have the problem where after I fill it up with a tank of gas, it doesnt start, I have to flush the flue out of the hoses and stuff. Part of that problem may have to do that the fuel pump is hardwired so the second the key is in the ignition, its pumping fuel, so I think its frequently floods. The guy at GW did that instead of finding fuel relays, so I would like to get that fixed. But any idea one why once the car gets put into reverse or drive it dies, like it doesnt maintain the idle speed enough, I got it cranked way up, it still dies. Also any idea why the car has difficulty turning over after I get a tank of gas. I dont even know what the guy at GW all charged me for, never gave me a list of work he did, and I was too busy to think of asking for one at the time. Ive already put 3grand into it, which should of been more than enough to get it running stable. What do you people suggest? Anyone in the portland area that is good at working on older volvos, eveyrone tells me GW, but he admited he didnt know what he was going very well on it. Perhaps some older gentlemen mechanic who owns or as owned one. I want to get this car running smooth, and hope to completely restore it some day. Thanks.
