New wiring harness 200 1984

I bought a new Engine wiring harness from IPD and installed it into my 1984 240 Wagon (non-turbo) last weekend. I am very happy with the quality of the harness from IPD. However, installation took the whole of my Saturday, quite difficult, lots of swearing. The old harness hardened stiff into position and would crumble as I would bend it (the swearing part).

After installation, I finally had the opportunity to inspect in detail my old harness and I am so so so surprised this car hadnt stalled on the road with the harness as bad as it actually is (much worse than I thought). It looked bad only at certain exposed points but when I started peeling off the black jackets, I saw extensive deteriorated wiring.

Something for you to watch out for in case you plan to take your 200 on a long trip and unsure about the harness. This is one of those things that will drive you crazy if it fails or goes intermittient along the way.
