Need Your Opinion on Smoke Problem 700 1987

2nd thought...

Have the oil lines to the turbo been replaced? if not stop now and do it!

my thinking is that that turbo must have got mighty hot..old lines could be full of coke..

if so (a) you have an unlubricated (underlubed) turbo which is NOT good news, also I believe(i.e. I may be wrong) that the turbo is force fed oil from the top, which drains under gravity down the bottom pipe..now if the lower pipe were blocked the oil wouldnt have anywhere to go...and could (maybe) work its way past seals into the exhuast (or intake)..

if you suspect this I would NOT run the car until I had at least checked the pipes out real close!
