VIBRATION/CLUNK - Help

I think I have narrowed the "clunk" down to the left rear. It seems to happen when putting the car in gear, i.e. when in going from park to rev. slight clunk. If I sit with my foot on the brake (car still) and shift it from rev to drive and then back, every time the direction changes I get a brief, but pronounced clunk from the rear. Bushing, right?

Second problem, perhaps related. When carrying a load of passengers , 2-300 lbs. I get vibration when taking off from a stand still. I read a few threads relating to this problem and they all seem to conclude that shims are the answer. However, that seems to be the case when there is no sagging; I on the other hand, have little bit of sagging - left rear - from where the clunk comes from.

I am thinking that this is one that i take to the mechanic, being a relative novice, but I would like as much info as possible before I do that.

Thanks.
