Gas smell in trunk 120-130 1966

I recently regained my sense of smell (don't ask) and was shocked at how strong the smell of gas is from the trunk. I've looked at previous posts on the subject and plan to tackle the problem. Question: am I missing any of the possible reasons? I ask because a v quick onceover makes me think it's not any of these.

1) filler neck got whacked and has a small fissure
2) pin head size holes in the tank itself
3) bad sending unit gasket
4) leak where fuel line connects to tank

No question it's from the trunk too. I won't drive for 1 week and I open the trunk and get knocked over by the smell.

Thanks Brickboarders
