Hard Starting ... Normal? 700 1990

We had a '90 745 GL that we drove from 100k miles to 150k miles.

I did not like the way it started from day one. A dealer's technician that I trust looked at it twice and told me that Reginas start like that. He did check for the cold start modification.

I was told that the engine must turn over enough for the system to find out where a certain position was. This was at least one full revolution , sometimes almost two.

The car always cranked more than I thought it should, but never failed to start within that one to two revolution window regardless of the weather.

When I sold the car, it sat in my yard for a month while the buyer "got a check he was waiting for". I started the car once a week, the car sat for two weeks during our vacation, it never failed to start and run well

Maybe they DO start like that.

Try to crank it a bit longer in the morning, maybe it is like the one I had.
