You've probably have already done this but I'll mention it anyway. Change the batteries in the remote. Mine was getting weak, I went to Walmart and got two replacement batteries and the performance was even worse. Apparently the replacement batteries (even though the correct ones) were thinner than the originals and not making good contact. I bought two new (different brand) batteries and now I have the range back.
