740 r-12 a/c capacity or specs. How much freon. 700 1989

I know I have asked this here before but I can not find the old message. I ahve an 89 740 with an r-12 system that is working half ass at the moment. I do have someone that is going to do a leak check on it since I am fairly confident that it is leaking. I posted previous message about telling wether or not the evap. has been changed and that the system had dye in it from previous owners. So far using a black light we have seen a few places that might be very small leaks. If they can not find any leaks then I am considering pulling a vacuum and recharging with r-12, yes it is expensive and I do have my epa card but I am willing to spend the extra money to keep it r-12 over converting. So my questions is about how many cans (think thay are 8 or 12 oz.) of r-12 should it take?
