HELP: 945-T Cuts Out Intermittently 900

My '93 945-T has been running flawlessly until this afternoon. While I was driving around town, it just started "cutting out" intermittently. The engine will be running fine, then it's as if the ignition is shut off. Sometimes it lasts for just one second, other times it lasts for 5-6 seconds. This happened 8-10 times today, and it seems to be happening at all speeds, in fact once it was just idling in my driveway when it died.
I'm leaning toward an ignition problem because it doesn't "sputter" out like it would if it were fuel -- it's either working great, or it's off all together. Other than this curious symptom, the car runs like a champ.
Another bit of info: when it cuts out, none of the engine warning lights come on.

Does anyone have any thoughts on where to start with this?

Thanks in advance for your input.
