lights went out in Georgia 200 1985

for the life of me i can't figure this car out ...it must have a mind of it's own and it must be a female ....
I removed the cluster board and fiddled around with it and finally got the fuel and temp gauge to work.....now it goes in and out also the two bulbs that illuminate the gauges at night when I turn the headlights on don't work I pulled the bulbs and they look fine ....and the parking lights
work when they feel like it ...one day they're fine the next day they don't ....I checked the fuses...changed them cleaned them used contact cleaner on them....what gives ?

NOTE: theres a connection that has two pins and a clip located between the clock and the speedometer ...should there be something connected to it ? I searched and couldn't find any loose wires other than the red and white tach connection wire
