16 valve for the long term? 700

I think you'll find that it is definitely more maintenance intensive than either the turbo or non-turbo engines. I acquired mine with almost 200k and I've put about 10k on it. You have to do your timing belt religiously, or your asking for major cost/repair. Not a whole lot of other issues though.

I've heard that oil leaks are a big problem with the head, but i haven;t had any there yet, I think it all leaks out the distributor before it gets a chance to!!

Personally, I have an 8v manual trans and the 16v auto.
It is definitely more powerful, but sometimes that 5 speed feels pretty good to run around in!
