Questions about electrical system 200 1988

i just recently installed a summit racing 16" electric fan about a week ago..unfortunately, i had to wire the fan to the ignition circuit because the thermostat that summit sent me was bad... regarding other electrical needs, i have a 150x2 watt amp powering 2 10" subwoofers..heres the problem.. whenever im driving at night, i have the fan, stereo, and headlights on, and anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours, the lights start to dim, and i have to disconnect the fan and turn off the headlights to help the system recharge...should i install a switch for the fan, or should i get another thermostat?? the other question i have is that i have a bosch 80 amp alternator.. bentley says that it makes 31 amps @ 1500 rpm and 80 @ 6000! i never run my car that high, so is the alternator really making less than that?? anyway.. any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks
JD
