95 940 central locking relay?

Thanks for all you help so far I almost got it! I found the relay at the bone yard (actually I got both the step and non stepped relay just in case). It seems that the problem is either in the lock actuator not grounding or the ground to the lock actuator. I took the cover off the relay and manually activated the relay points and the doors lock and unlock, I then manually ground the lock and unlock wires coming from the lock actuator and the doors lock/unlock, but the drivers lock still does not actuate the door locks. It seems like I have ground fault from or to, but need more time to trace it. Any suggestions, should I replace the (drivers) door lock actuator mechanism (seems like a PITA) or should I poke wires to try and find a fault in the ground?
Thanks
