oil cap leaking 700 1988

My oil fill cap is leaking. Easy to solve right? I've changed the gasket, bent the cap tabs and it still soaks the valve cover after a short (1-2 mile) drive. Can the cap itself be bad? Any other suggestions? I've tried both Volvo and aftermarket gaskets and get the same result. The oil slick in my driveway is growing . . . Help!!
