Climate Control failure 900 1995

I have the AC-off light flashing continuously after the car has been running for about 10-15 seconds. If the fan speed is set to auto, the fan stays locked at full speed and the heating is locked on full heat (I live in Australia so I really would prefer air-con to be locked on rather than the heater!)
The diagnostic code (DTC) I am receiving from the unit is 214 (Motor activated for too long) Although the car is under a warranty from the dealer, I cannot have it fixed for several days. Is there anything quick I can check such as hoses etc. Bear in mind that although I'm not stupid, I'm not a mechanic. Also I believe the fault MAY have something simple as it appears to have started after the car ran over a bump.
