oil light on 16v engines? 700

ive recently rebuilt my 1990 16v due to ED (Engine Death)it failed at the big end so i reground the crank fitted new shells main and big end, honed the barrels and fitted new rings, replaced all lifters, new belts and gaskets seals etc, complete head overhaul, along with some other stuff that i did i also fitted an oil cooler from a 93 200ft and replaced my oil pressure relief valve as my oil light comes on at idle the oil light only flickers now since fitting the cooler where it was constant before,my questions are
1) at what sort of pressure does the oil light come on
2) is this flickering light a major cause for concern as in my owners manual it states that this light should come on after hard driving
3) if i switch to a fully synthetic will this aggrivate the problem of low pressure at idle or should it help by reducing the overall oil temp bearing in mind that the light only comes on when fully heated
many thanxs in advance
