940 keyless entry questions 900 1995

I've learned from this forum that the actuator inside the driver's door at the base of the lock stem is NOT an actuator but a switch. I want to know if I can install an aftermarket actuator and leave the original switch in place to be able to use both features. It looks like there may be room below the existing switch to install the new actuator. Also, someone stated that they had found wires for an actuator taped out of the way but installed, presumably, as original wires. They were able to use these with the new actuator. Has anyone else found these wires?

Lastly, do I need a wiring diagram to figure out which color wires are which?
