Replacing pre-pump 200 1989

Yeah, there's a ring that has to be turned/twisted/rotated and that allows the plate/assembly for the prepump and fuel level sender to be removed. There's a special tool that can be made that makes turning this ring MUCH easier (my local dealer wanted $80 for this tool). Look for plans/designs in the special tools area of the 700/900 FAQ here. I took these plans to a guy at my work who made the tool for me.

Haynes manual says you can also use a brass rod (so as to not cause sparks) and a hammer to rotate it, but mine had some considerable rust and corrosion that would have taken a LONG time, if at all.
