clunk sound 200

I needed to brake REALLY hard the other day in my 87 245dl. It does need brakes soon but it's still stopping well and I, fortunatly missed what I was trying to miss. During the hard braking though, there was a loud clunk that seemed to come from the back fo the car. I recently had the undercarriage overhauled, or as the mechanic put it, underhauled, ha ha ha. Every bushing, tie rod end, steering rack, shock and strut was replaced so it's not some arm banging around back there. Does anyone have any ideas? Could this be dangerous or no big deal?
