Cleaning Oil Galleries -- Part 2

If you want to clean the cam etc, take it out and use something like simple green on it. You can clean the bearing caps, nuts, valve shims and buckets inside and out. Also can replace the hushers on top of the valves. When you reassemble, lube everything completely and retorque the cam bearing caps to 14 lbs only 14!! You can clean the valve cover too. Wouldn't put any junk into the engine as you may loosen more than you care to and plug stuff. If you take out the adjustment shims, make sure they go back to the original valve they came from in order to retain proper adjustment.
