Head job done soon. Can I swap my 'M' cam for a 'K' without changing ECU? 200 1990

Hi.

I'll be changing head gasket and seals soon. I have a K cam from an 82 242 GLT and would like to replace the M hoping to get more power output. Can someone tell me if this involves replacing the ECU or anything else and would there be a noticable difference with accelleration?

Please, any input on whatever else I might need to know about such a swap more than welcome.

Thanks.
