IAC Removal 200

If this is an 83 LH injected B23 the idle air motor is down below mounted on a bracket. The answer is no, you don't remove the intake manifold. You may have to move a hose or two out of the way but you basically just reach under there and unbolt the motors bracket from the support on the motor. You have to remove the electrical plug and the two air hoses, then you want to unbolt them motor with it's mounting bracket. You would swap the bracket to the new motor if you are replacing it. Make sure to use injection air intake cleaner it's a bit less caustic than regular carb cleaner. Supposedly it's safer on plastic stuff. The
spray can of Solder Seal/Gunk brand actually has a 940 motor on the front of the can! It's great, you go to the store and buy the can with the Volvo motor on it!
