new speaker makes same noise

the rt front speaker in the dash of my car is putting out a horrid sound at regular to loud settings (kinda of a tin rattle). at low/soft it is barely noticible. it seams to get worse the longer the speaker is in use. switching to the other front location, the noise does not follow. the midrange in the door sounds fine.

is this a crossover problem? or perhaps a wiring issue. have had many cars with many stereos, never seen this issue (i usually use just a head unit and 4 speaker setup, so this is a little new to me) if it were an amp issue, i would guess that the midrange in the door would also exhibit the same sound. all wiring and actual radio are original, all speakers have been replaced.

btw car is an 89 760
