740 Turbo Timing 700 1986

Ditto on the harmomic balancer(crank pulley)you should rotate the engine to top dead center on the front cylinder on the compreesion stroke, you can verify this by looking at cam lobes, they should be up away from the valve buckets in the head and with your spark plug out the piston should be right at the very top. Those older harmonic balancers can slip because they are two piece with a pressed fit rubber in between and a sure sign is if your timing mark is way off when you know where the piston and cam orientation are correct.IPS in Boise Idaho has these in stock for a reasonable price and quality.
