Door handle 200 1984

My driver's side door handle has bitten the dust -- again.

The first time was the rivet giving up. Fixed that.

This time, the demise was more gradual. Felt as though the point of opening got higher and higher in the handle's upward travel. Then, it just would open any more. It felt as though the spring was losing tension, perhaps?

I recall that there were two major reasons for door handle death. One was the rivet and the other was what?

Looking for illumination before I disassemble the door and blow money on a new handle.

Now relocated from Birmingham to Raleigh with the 84 244 and 73 145. The new house has a garage. Whoopee!
