Oiling Order 200 1985

I am in Vancouver, WA. My favorite U-Pull It has a nice K block B230F in a 1989 car, but I'm afraid that shipping would drive the cost up too high. They get $125 for an engine without accessories.

The connecting rod bearings get their oil from drilled passages in the crankshaft which line up with annular rings in the main bearings. The annular rings in the main bearings are supplied from the main oil galley. The main oil galley gets its oil from the filter.

How much was the engine driven and run after the rod started knocking? The large end of the connecting rod distorts (the opening gets bigger, and that is bad) and a new bearing insert will make the rod knock less, but not fix it. I have had personal experience in this area. Don't waste your time pulling the pan and installing bearings. It was a waste of time for me, and my old mechanic friend had given me the same advice I am passing on to you.
