1991 745T cheap, killer issues? 700

I am looking at a '91 745T that is going cheap due to many known issues. Most I am comfortable with, but:

1. The tank pump is dead. I have one from an '87 745 non-turbo that I could probably fit safely, but would it deliver enough fuel for the Turbo?

2. The car has 300,000 km and I don't know if it will pass emissions testing. Can ring and/or valve guide wear be an issue in emissions? How many hours should a mechanic with experience on 740's (mine has lots) require to do valve guides and piston rings? Or would dropping in a rebuilt engine make more sense if it is burning oil internally?

Thanks
