No, no, I am comparing expansion tank with expansion tank. The coolant in the expansion tank in the turbo diesel is tepid after a decent long run, the coolant in the expansion tank in the petrol turbo is boiling after a similar run. I am not so stupid that I put my finger down the radiator after having just driven the car. Both cars indicate steady centre on the coolant temp gauge whilst driving.
