no spark 200 1986

I have no spark anywhere. I checked resistance at the primary and secondary wires on the coil and it is within specs. I have 12 volts going into the coil and when I crank the engine I have a constant voltage on both sides instead of a pulsing voltage. This leads me to believe that my impulse sender or pickup coil is not working. I also have no fuel. I jumped the fuel pump relay and the pump works. I've learned that in order to have fuel, I must have spark. IS THIS CORRECT???? I pulled the distributor out of the car to change the pickup coil. My Haines manual says that there should be a snap ring or a pin near the shaft. THERE ISN'T. I did find a pin on the lower gear....Is this how I take the pickup coil out (By pulling the whole shaft) and if it is, does the pin unscrew or tap out? I guess the other possibility would be a faulty control module and if so, how would I test it. If someone could please help me, I would appreciate it and if there are any other possibilities of what could be wrong, I would appreciate any help whatsoever.
