88 740GLE transmission issue 700

Hi, all, I am in dire need of help.

I've looked through the FAQ and I still have no idea what's going on with my transmission.

The problem is that it is not going into overdrive.
That's all; it's perfect otherwise.
The overdrive cutout light on the dash is functioning - the button works, the light will come on and go off if I press it, but it will not affect the transmission's operation (since it never goes into overdrive).

I have replaced the overdrive relay.

I have replaced the overdrive solenoid.

I had the transmission fluid flushed and refilled

I had the differential fluid flushed and refilled.

Still no overdrive.

"The transmission is fine"... No mechanic knows what to do about it, and it really seems to me that they don't care that they can't help me.

Any help or advice anyone can offer me would be greatly appreciated.
