164e: hot-start problem and slow power window 140-160 1975

I had exactly the same hot-start problem, so can sympathise with the embarassing "phart-stumble-pop-phart" noises in public places :)
When you replaced the injector seals, did you also renew the fibre insulating washers which sit between the aluminium injector carriers and the head? They go a long way towards insulating the carriers from heat. I obtained two sets (12) and also put one under each of the cap srew heads which hold the carriers on. This helped a lot, but didn't cure the problem altogether. I tried an electric fan, but it made the problem worse. Had it wired to run at half speed with the ignition off, but that didn't help much.
Next thing to tackle on my car is the fuel pump. I suspect that, although the pressure is fine, the flow rate is not enough to re-circulate fuel at a sufficient rate to keep it cool enough. Have yet to check that. I will re-locate the pump inside the trunk too, to get it out of the hot air stream from the exhaust.
