fog light mounting 200

So I picked up a set of bosch pilot fogs at the junk yard and am wondering what to do with them or if I really want them at all.
I'm looking for tips on how people have mounted them satsifactorily below the bumper.
I have the early 80's air dam with no vent/scoop for air to the radiator. The obvious mounting points - the outer pair of bolts up through the bumper - put the fogs too wide and too far forward for my tastes - they project 1/2-1" beyond the bumper. Bad for frequent parallel parking too. The corresponding inner pair of bolts have the same problem of too far forward, and also interference with the lisence plate mount.
Is there a better way to mount them cleanly? I've seeb 700's with holes in the air dam for fogs. Don't suppose one of those dams would fit?
I've been looking at the later 80's version of the 240 dam with the three hole air scoop, but they don't seem to accommodate fogs any better.
Any ideas?

Joe
