1990 volvo 740 turbo excessive cranking to start cold or hot 700 1990

Hi
I just purchased a 1990 volvo 740 turbo Wagon
I'm new here and hope someone can give me some suggestions. When I try to start my 740 it cranks for about 8 to 10 seconds before is starts. This happens when it is cold or after I the engine warms up.. Is this normal?? The car has 125,000 miles on it. After is starts is seems to run fine. I seem to see alot of cold start problems listed but I dont see anything about cold and hot start problems. Any help would be great..

Thanks Tony
