122 Charging Issues 120-130 1967

A simple way to think about this is how you have your alternator wires routed. You might consider an 8 ga wire direct from the B+ on the back of the alt to the positive battery post. Then a similar ga wire from neg battery connection to one of the lugs with a bolt on the back of the alternator to ground it. be careful not to use too long of a bolt. If your battery stays charged after doing this try romoving the positive wire and then the negative to see if you can determin which part of the circet is bad, power or ground. If it still is not charging with the added wires it about has to be a bad alt. or a bad battery. There is nothing wrong with a properly installed and functioning Delco alternator on your car unless you are into a pure stock restoration project.
