problems with my 760 turbo 700 1989

I am haveing some unusual problems with my volvo 76o turbo. It usually occures when i am just driving along doing nothing out of the ordinary. I'll just be driving when the tach will drop to zero and a few seconds later the engine will totally die. now this is in no way a life-threatening problem, but it does mean that i have to pull over to the side of the road and restart the car. If anyone has any suggestions about how i can fix the problem feel free to respond or email me at Trek_Lord@hotmail.com
