I may buy an '87 254 - Any Advice? 200

I have been caring for a 85 244GL for three years and have done all my own work and I am an avid brickboard reader. I love these cars. I have been looking for a 245 since I sold my 4x4 Scout. I found one I can afford locally. 245s are hard to find in the KC area. One thing that worries me about it is that it has 250,000 miles. I know they are supposed to go forever, but would I be making a mistake to take one over at that mileage? Any one have any suggestions about what to inspect for when I give the car a going over this weekend before i buy it? Anyone know of any big flaws in this model year?
