speedo/odometer cluster - remove bezel? japanese vs. swiss? 700 1986

Thanks to gtopaul for the gift of the cluster, now we are faced with the odemeter problems. In searching the FAQ's and archives, I see a number of references to 'remove the clear plastic bezel'

I cannot see any way of doing this with the '86 Swiss speedo head, as it would appear that the screws holding the bezel on come in from the dial side (under the printed speed readings) and to get this off one would have to pull the speedo 'pointer' off (which I assume is not the right thing to do).

re the swiss gauges 'serviceable' in any way, or do I keep hunting for a working cluster/combination?

Thanks

Greg
